Seb & Olivia’s Den Truck  (& Bike) Convoy – November 2016

The Truck run was held the day the Sensory Den was officially opened and our wonderful Bikers joined us on this trip.  The trucks and bikes started at The Wagon Team, Team Valley and headed North along the A1 and off at Cramlington towards the Den.  Truckers travelled from the South to be a part of this special Truck Run.  Part of the convoy pulled into the grounds and went to visit the Den and see the children who’s lives will benefit from the Sensory Room.

After some Christmas mince pies and a lot of entertainment, the convoy was back on the road, headed over the Tyne Bridge towards the Angel and returned back to Team Valley.

Again, the North East welcomed the convoy and there was lots of waves, air horns blasting and lots of fun!  We also managed to raise over £450.

NET Truckers Charity Football Match – July 2016

This by far has been one of the most entertaining charity event to date.  The NET Football team’s were joined at Northburn Community Sports Centre by Alnmouth Football Team for a charity football match and what a fantastic game this was to watch.  We had lots of team photo’s, the juniors kids joining in and the little ones came equiped with cheers and pon-pons to support their dads, brothers, granddad’s playing football.

Some cracking football played, including 3 goals from Chris and a brief moment where Chumba forgot what game he was playing and picked the ball up to run with it!!

Many thanks to the Seb & Olivia Team for supplying hotdogs, cakes and refreshments.  A great day for all the family, and we managed to raise around £430 for the Sensory Room

North East Truck Show – August 2016

August 2016 saw the second NET Truck Show raising funds for Seb & Olivia’s Den, a sensory room in memory of 2 very dear children who sadly passed away.

Seb and Olivia’s Den

In memory of these two extremely special children we would like to raise money to make a sensory room in Northburn Community Centre. Hopefully this sensory room will benefit many children and their families in Northumberland.

SEB;  Seb was 12 years old was one of our first members at Northburn Ability to play freestyle, which he loved coming to over the years, he could just have fun and be himself in a safe and happy place. In august 2015 very suddenly Seb peacefully fell asleep.

OLIVIA ;  Olivia was diagnosed with leukaemia on Christmas eve 2015. She was bright and bubbly and she had a cheeky little smile especially when she was up to mischief. Olivia spent Christmas and her 2nd birthday in the RVI ward 4 Newcastle battling hard. In February 2016 Olivia peacefully fell asleep.

The NET Truck Show raised around £7000 for the Den which was officially opened in November 2016.

North East Truckers  The Cruise Convoy – November 2015

November 22nd was the first North East Truckers Convoy.

The trucks started at The Wagon Team, Team Valley at 12pm.  The trucks headed North along the A1 and off at Gosforth Park.  The trucks then headed along Sandy Lane and towards Longbenton (Callum’s hometown) and then through the Cradlewell Bypass and onto the Central Motoway.  The trucks headed over the Tyne Bridge towards the Angel and returned back to Team Valley.

The North East welcomed the convoy and there was lots of waves, air horns blasting and lots of fun!  We also managed to raise over £400.

North East Truck Show – August 2015

Our very first truck show raised over £12,000 for Callum.

The family asked that our funds were used to pay the deposit on a brand new 2016 model, a wider modelled caravan to enable Callum’s wheelchair inside as the caravan they currently leased at Haggerston Castle wasn’t wide enough for his wheelchair.  NET also negotiated a good deal for the family for a ramp to ensure safe entry into the caravan whilst he is in his wheelchair.
